V Mathis was raised in the Historic Neighborhood of Hyde Park, on the southside of Chicago. He got his music start from the Late, Dr. Lena McLin. Lena has worked with Numerous Artists from Chaka Khan, and R. Kelly, to Jennifer Hudson!
V is also 1 of the original 15 WGCI Chicago Idol Finalists! V has performed on some of the biggest music stages, opening up for various headline artists!
V Mathis had his own weekly music show, at "The Select" from 2023-2024! V is now a Full-time Artist, and Prince performer, and now has 160+ shows, under his belt, since 2023!
V Mathis is currently collaborating on multiple projects, with "The Original Sugar Ray", Nephew of The Late Great Curtis Mayfield! Their New Hit Song "Hot Sauce Baby" will also be a Jingle for IHSB "It's Hot Sauce Baby", Hot Sauce! You can find his original music, on all streaming platforms. V Mathis is working on His Break out Single, "What You do to me" originally written for Michael Jackson, by The Original Sugar Ray. The highly anticipated Single, will drop, Spring of 2026!

V Mathis was selected to play Prince for the Biopic of Eve the Rapper on TV One's Hit series "Uncensored". That experience continues to open many doors for him, including having his own Sold out Prince Show at The Academy Theatre! From the eyeliner to the heels, to Prince's moves and vocal range, he is sure to make any Prince Aficionado nostalgic!
