V Mathis was raised on the southside of Chicago. He got his music start from the Late, Dr. Lena McLin. Lena has worked with Numerous Artists from Chaka Khan, and R. Kelly, to Jennifer Hudson!
V is also 1 of the original 15 WGCI Chicago Idol Finalists! V has performed on some of the biggest music stages, opening up for artists ranging from Boyz ll Men, Frankie Beverly and Maze, to Cameo, at The House of Blues!
V Mathis recently had his own weekly music show, at the "The Select". V is now a Full-time Artist, and Prince Impersonator, and has performed over 140+ shows, since 2023! You can find his original music, on all streaming platforms. V Mathis prides himself not just on Talent, but his Personality, Work Ethic and Professionalism!

V Mathis was selected to play Prince for the Biopic of Eve the Rapper on TV One's Hit series "Uncensored". That experience continues to open many doors for him, including having his own Sold out Prince Show at The Academy Theatre! From the eyeliner to the heels, to Prince's moves and vocal range, he is sure to make any Prince Aficionado nostalgic!
